An amazing few days in Vienna

We took a quick trip to Vienna recently where Charlotte and Carl were recipients of the Medal for Exceptional Equitation. A very prestigious award given to them by the Spanish Riding School, in recognition of their horsemanship and standards of training excellence.

Trip to Vienna Spanish Riding School with Charlotte DujardinI was extremely honoured to be with them, and experience another memorable moment in such an historic venue. We were also invited that evening to the “Fete Imperiale” A Ball  which was also held in the main Riding hall of the SRS.

It was full of glitz and glamour, including a red carpet (well technically green!) on our arrival, then wonderful performances from two opera singers, and the local debutantes doing their Waltz!

Before we flew out we had a little time to do some sight seeing and shopping in Vienna itself. I have to say it is one of the most beautiful cities I have visited. The architecture is stunning, and so was the ice cream!

We were very fortunate that Vienna was enjoying a bit of a heat wave, so that went down very well!

Back home now and teaching is well underway. I head back to Charlotte’s this week for Hartpury CDI and Premier League Show. Charlotte has around seven or eight different horse competing through the week, so we will be busy getting organised for each day, and hoping for a few wins along the way!
